Today, Alyssa has the pleasure of speaking to Petrina Carter, the President and CEO of Tri-County Community Action. Tri-County Community Action gives ample resources to those in need in the community. Petrina holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree (training and development) and wanted to work in social services so badly that she interviewed three times until she was offered the position. (Now that’s persistence!) Petrina describes her leadership style as engaging, and puts emphasis on the fact that she needs the help and perspective of others to be able to do her job. Her advice for the younger population just graduating and starting out: “Relax, and don’t be a passenger in your life.”
